Dona Nabata is a Vancouver-based artist whose work is deeply informed by the internment of Japanese Canadians and its generational effects on her family. A graduate of Emily Carr University with studies in Japanese pottery in Tokyo and Kyoto, Nabata works across painting and mixed media, with collections addressing themes of cultural otherness, gender, and postcolonial identity.
